BACK COVER

Lori T. of Syracuse is an inner view looking outward from the adolescent mind and the emotional complexities of this vital time of change and development of identity.

Written in the first-person, and from the over-view of having spent a career of nearly 25 years as a Teacher and School Principal working with this age-group, the author reflects on his own adolescent years counterpoised with  the life of a classmate, Lori T., in this true penetrating account of their Junior High School years.

From the author’s letter to Lori T. at the onset of the endeavor:

My aim is to provide in a real life story, insight as to how children at this stage in their lives perceive their world amid the complex influences shaping their identities. But beyond the times and conditions in which we were surrounded, the book will explore how something deeper was within us helping us find our way among peers through trial, turmoil, exploration, humor, personal courage, and friendship. …I want this to be a book itself for youth to help them see themselves, how they shape their own identity, and to consider a broadened perspective on what they are experiencing, by this, my own in-depth look at the world as I saw it so many years ago.
